The Copa América 2024™ commenced with an exhilarating first round of the group stage, featuring a series of captivating matches and unexpected outcomes. Across eight games held from June 20-24, football fans witnessed thrilling clashes that set the tone for the tournament's excitement and competitiveness. 

The inaugural match on June 20 saw defending champions Argentina triumph over Canada with a 2-0 victory at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Notably, star player Lionel Messi set a new record for the most appearances in the tournament amidst a festive atmosphere highlighted by a pre-match concert by Feid. 


In subsequent matches, Chile and Peru played to a hard-fought 0-0 draw, showcasing resilience on both sides. Venezuela secured a remarkable 2-1 comeback win against Ecuador, while Mexico clinched a 1-0 victory over Jamaica in a tightly contested Concacaf encounter. 


The host nation, USA, delivered an impressive 2-0 win against Bolivia, with captain Christian Pulisic shining on the field. Meanwhile, Uruguay emerged victorious with a 3-1 win over Panama, guided by coach Marcelo Bielsa's tactical acumen. 


Colombia displayed their prowess with a 2-1 triumph over Paraguay, thanks to standout performances by James Rodriguez. The clash between Brazil and Costa Rica ended in a goalless draw, with Costa Rica's solid defensive display earning them a valuable point against the formidable Brazilian side.
