Australia's top female road cyclist, Grace Brown, announced her decision to retire from professional cycling at the end of 2024. The 31-year-old FDJ-Suez rider, known for her 23 UCI wins and podium finishes, including a recent victory at Liège-Bastogne-Liège, cited missing her life in Australia as a key factor in her retirement choice. Despite considering continuing in cycling, Brown expressed her longing for home, family, and friends in Australia.

Starting with Holden Team Gusto Racing and moving through various teams before joining FDJ in 2022, Brown highlighted the challenges Australian riders face due to distance and travel issues compared to European counterparts. She voiced her contentment with her cycling achievements but eagerly anticipates the next chapter in her life.

Before concluding her career, Brown aims to represent Australia at the Paris Olympic Games and the Tour de France Femmes with FDJ-Suez. Grateful for the support and believers in her journey, she looks forward to finishing the season on a high note and hopes to achieve significant goals before bidding farewell to competitive cycling.
